The causes for thinning hair are complex and multi-faceted. Research has shown that genetics is only one cause of thinning hair. Other causes may include rough treatment of the hair and scalp, toxins and pollutants from the environment, poor diet, skin conditions, and a lack of circulation to the scalp skin, hormonal changes, medications and stress.
Research has determined that DHT [use the full name once] is a primary cause of thinning hair for both men and women.
What is DHT? DHT is a hormone byproduct present in the sebum on the scalp. This metabolite [what's this?] is formed by an enzymatic reaction [what's this?] between 5-Alpha-Reductase [what's this?] and testosterone in tissue responsive skin. Scalp tissue is responsive skin. A genetic predisposition, hormonal balances and imbalances, as well as the conversion of testosterone into DHT, can be inherited from either your mother's or your father's side of the family.
If you are prone to DHT, it is likely that your body will always produce it. Daily use of shampoos and scalp conditioners with DHT blockers may help to improve the scalp environment which helps enhance the appearance of thin-looking hair and minimize excessive daily hair loss. There are several brands on the market [do you really want to sell other brands?], and they generally utilize botanicals and essential oils help to maintain an optimum scalp environment. These products cleanse DHT from the scalp and increase micro circulation to the blood vessels of the scalp.
